Here is a list of the patterns in this book, along with some comments..
.
Potawatomi Chain - Daisy Chain Stitch
3 beads create a space between the Daisy Flowers.
.
.
Undulations Bracelet - Peyote Stitch
Uses Size 15o, 11o, 8o, 6o Seed Beads.
.
.
Cupcake Earrings - Brick Stitch
*** NOT for a beginner. ***
You Better Know Brick Stitch BEFORE Trying this pattern.
I think a beginner would fail in making this one.
*** Also, I can not imagine many adults wanting to wear these earrings. ***
A young girl might love them.
.
.
Crystal Ruffle Cuff Bracelet - Peyote Stitch
Uses 6mm x 9mm Teardrop beads for embellishment.
.
It isn't easy to find teardrop beads this size anymore.
I suggest you use pearl drops for this *or* use a smaller drop bead instead.
Most drops and magatamas (drops with off center holes) are 3mm or smaller these days.
.
.
Lilac Rosette Necklace - Circular Right Angle Weave Stitch
Diagram looks like circular Peyote Stitch, but it is RAW units, worked in a circular pattern (at least I think so).
.
.
Sunflower Motif Earrings - Brick Stitch
Center crystal bead surrounded by rows of Brick Stitch with 2 rows of Loop Stitch petals.
.
.
Frosty Diamonds Bracelet - Odd Count Peyote Stitch
Uses 11o, 8o, 6o seed beads.
Extra Lesson - Teaches you how to make a very simple Beaded Bead and Loop Closure.
.
.
Alligator Bracelet - Ladder Stitch
*** NOT for a beginner. ***
Better know how to make flat 2D animals BEFORE trying to make this lizard shaped bracelet.
.
This has a full bead by bead pattern, but VERY FEW instructions.
I think a beginner would fail in making this one.
.
*** I can not imagine any adult wanting to wear this bracelet.***
A young boy, possibly a lizard loving girl would wear it.
.
.
Cobalt Blue Elegance Bracelet - Embellished Right Angle Weave Stitch.
*** This is a WINNER project *** A Beautiful Bracelet ***
However, it needs a lot more step by step photos for most beginning and intermediate bead stitchers to feel confident enough to try to make it.
.
.
Luna Lovegood Radish Earrings
This pattern seems to be cashing in on the Harry Potter craze with these 3D Radish Shaped Earrings.
Very Poor Editing on this one.
.
One of the worst mistakes is that there is no size specified for the red beads you are supposed to bead over with smaller red beads.
Get one too big and the green leaves will look too small.
Get one too small and the earring pattern will not work.
.
Add to these difficulties, directions that are almost worthless, due to the lack of photos.
*** There is only ONE Photo of the Finished Earrings for the entire pattern. ***
This should have been rewritten and quite a few more photos added.
Some of the instructions follow below.
Instructions
1.) Start with the tip of the radish. Thread the nylon through a white seed bead and pull the ends together to thread another seed bead. Thread more seed beads until you're happy with the tip you came up with. You have to make two.
*** Thread more seed beads until you're happy with the tip you came up with.***
What kind of instruction is this ?
A really, really, really poor one.
Add this to no photo, and it is a recipe for failure.
2.) Secure the beads tightly with a crimp. Don't cut the excess thread. Set aside.
3.) For the body of the radish, knot a nylon thread tightly around the red spherical bead. Pull the knot inside the bead.
4.) Start threading red seed beads around the red spherical bead. Don't stop threading until the spherical bead is completely wrapped with the seed beads.
****** This is one of the worst patterns included, due to editing.
I fail to understand how a beginner would be able to do any of this pattern correctly, without photos to help them. ******
.
.
Kiss Me Band Bracelet - Even Count Peyote Stitch
Solid color background w X Shaped Pattern.
.
Here the instructions read, in part, "Cut a piece of beading thread to measure 3 yards plus 12 inches."
*** This is far too long for a beginner. ***
.
One should use a comfortable length and add thread if needed.
A good length, for beginners, is about 18 inches.
.
Add 12 additional inches of thread to the 1st piece of thread, as you will leave this behind to attach the clasp.
In other words, you do not pull the last 12 inches through the beads..
.
.
.
I wonder that the rating for this book is so high.
Maybe it is because it is free.
.
When I read the entire book, so I could review it, it was clear these are patterns from other places (books, web sites, blogs) and NEVER had the format changed to fit this style of book.
There is no excuse for this lack of editing.
.
I suggest you pass on it if you are a beginner.
Come back when you are ready for more.
.
Why?
.
I use the diagrams and photos to stitch a pattern, as you can see what the author meant when they wrote the instructions.
These instructions, and lack thereof, need a good editor to sort out into workable form.
This is too bad as this book could have been a very worthwhile one to have in your library, had there been many more photos and diagrams included.
.
Still, this book does use a good number of stitches.
In addition, this book has quite a few different styles of patterns.
It is a good book for a beginner that wants a challenge *or* an intermediate stitcher that does not rely on graphs, diagrams or photos to follow a pattern.
.
Best of all, this book is FREE.

Making Beaded Jewelry 11 Free Seed Bead Patterns and Projects edition by Prime Publishing Crafts Hobbies Home eBooks Reviews
No this book isn't for begginers, which I would classify myself as because I haven't beaded in years. Now that I have a daughter of my own, my interest has peaked again. I do need to practice and probably refamiliarize myself wih the verbiage, but based on the instructions and the pictures, I am confident this would be a great asset to me. Plus, it isn't marketed as a how-to, it's a pattern book. There is a big difference. This gets straight to the meet. The projects are adorable and customizable. The pictures are just beautiful and motivating. We'll be running to the craft store this weekend!
I received this book in exchange for my honest review.
This was a great book and tutorial, however, it only managed to solidify that I do not have the patience to work with seed beads. While the directions were easy to follow and the book is great, I just was not able to have the patience it took to complete the projects. I will have to stick to jewelry making with larger beads! Great book for others who have the ability to work with the tiny little buggers!!
*I received this product at a discount in exchange for my honest review after product testing*
Thank you for reading my review. If you find my review to be helpful, please vote “yes”. If not, you are absolutely free to vote “no” and hopefully, you can leave a comment stating why. I am always looking forward to improve my reviews, so that others, like you, can benefit from my experience!
I was excited when i first saw what patterns were in this book. Some of them were adorable and would make excellent birthday or Christmas gifts...assuming you can read the instructions. This book is definitely not for beginners. Although several of the patterns give good instructions, some even having pictures to help as a walk through, you still need to know beading vocabulary and techniques. I have several beading books for beginners, but still had to really think my way through these designs, especially when they started using bead sizes and brick stitch versus ladder stitch. I am rusty with seed beads, but for those that have put more time and energy into learning this craft, this would be a very good book. The list at the beginning of each pattern gives you the materials and the sizes of each needed. I'd suggest getting a book that is easier to comprehend to start off, otherwise you'll risk getting frustrated and quitting what can be a great hobby. i myself will be revisiting my beginner books because i REALLY want to make the cupcake earrings and the cobalt bracelet.
This pattern book is specifically for using up those seed beads that tend to build up after making other beading projects. There are other types of beads that are included in the projects but first and foremost the seed beads are the stars of these patterns. These are not original patterns, they are taken from different bloggers and/or websites, and credit is given to each individual designer. There are also links to each website as well as links to other types of free patterns such as knitting, christmas crafts, quilts, etc. If you find these too challenging, there are also links to tutorials, tips and jewelry making to help you learn, as well as a free newsletter from the publisher.
I would consider these quite challenging for an absolute beginner, but if you have some knowledge in beading this is a great pattern (not instructional) book. The directions are easy to follow and many of the patterns have photos to help you along There is a pattern for a peyote stitch bracelet that includes basic directions on how to do the peyote stitch. There is an alligator bracelet that would be a great project to do with kids, or as a gift for a child. All in all I found this a nice guide to making a total of seven bracelets, three pairs of earrings and a necklace. This product was received at a discount in exchange for an HONEST review.
